Lucas wanted to buy a new bike with his birthday money. Here it is.....
We finally also got his camera with the money he got for Christmas, so these pictures were taken with his camera. There will be millions more I'm sure.

Things you've always wanted to know but were too afraid to ask...
I have been inspired by Kathleen to make my own list of things you may not know about me. Why? I don't know, I guess everyone dreams of being important enough that everyone will want to know everything about you.
1. Deep down under my plain Jane-tomboyish exterior, there is a part of me that loves pink frilly things and would love to wear little dresses and high heels and really girly jewelry.
2. I always look at everyone's behind, not sure why, just habit I guess, to compare mine to everyone else's.
3. Pomegranate is by far my favourite fruit
4. I am like Britney Spears in that I develop strange accents, when I'm in France I start talking in a french accent.....
5. I would love to dogsled the Arctic.
6. I fear being stuck in a small space. Just the thought of it makes me want to run outside in the open.
7. I am a Mario Bros. addict.
8. I suffer from safe-poop syndrome.
9. I once wanted to become a private investigator.
10. I fear eating bugs.
So there, now you know a little more about me.... aren't you glad?

Snow anyone??
For those of you in PEI complaining about snow and winter, I thought I'd share a few pictures with you showing what winter really is.....
This is my mom and Gilles on top of their garage shovelling off the snow before it caves in.

This is Lucas walking in a path at my moms. Notice the snow is higher than he is.

This is Lucas on the snowpile in front of my Grand mother's. She lives on the bottom and can't see anything but snow.
Lucas did enjoy playing in all the snow.....
I'm Back...!!
Hello everyone! Long time no blog! I was away in Quebec visiting my family. I had all intentions of continuing to blog, however lack of time and patience towards dial up prevented me from doing it. So I will make up for it now.
We had a great trip! The boys did really good in the car, Nathan slept the whole way, only waking up to feed. Lucas was a great help and gave him the bottle while I kept driving, so we made it in 13 hours. It was long, but good overall.
Everyone was happy to see the kids..... what about me?? I am dead last now! But if it means my kids go first, then I don't mind.
Here is my mom with Nathan

And my dad with the boys

The 3 cousins....
Lucas and Maelie got along really well, which was a blessing. They played together and didn't fight or argue. I guess they are growing up......

Litererary moment
In high school, I like to think that I did pretty good in English, mostly writing, but never could understand poetry or keep my mind from wandering to other more important thoughts (boys) to stay focussed on literature, especially the obscure stuff.
Then came college and a professor by the name of Donald (can't remember his last name). His enthusiasm for poetry and literature was contagious and suddenly I was hooked.
One that stuck with me all this time is James Joyce's book of stories "Dubliners". While most stories taken as they are can be rather quite boring, but when disectected to pieces, you come to realize that James Joyce is a genius and the stories are fantastic.
Every winter I think of the particular short story called "The Dead" because it takes place in winter and the last line goes like this:
"His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead."
When I lived in Fort Augustus, there was a cemetery across the street and after every snowfall I thought of this line about the snow falling on all the living and the dead. Indeed snow does not discriminate, it just is everywhere, doesn't matter who you are.
Most of the time, I do love winter and I love seeing snow fall and a sea of white everywhere. Today, it is snowing again and we have high winds up to 100km per hour. Visibility is pretty bad. I have been cooped up in the house for 2 days and my butt is numb from sitting on the couch all day. Nathan hasn't had a decent nap all day, he will only sleep for a little bit at a time, never long enough for me to get anything done. There is a basket of laundry in the living room that remains unfolded cause I can't get away from him long enough to do it. Lucas is storm stayed at his dad's and I miss him......
So I guess my point is now that I wish this !#$%^&^&* snow would for once just fall on the dead and leave the living alone...... I need to get out of the house before I become one of those dead....
I just want winter to go away, I have had enough..... I want heat and lots of it. I want sunshine, I want a tan, I want to garden, I want to see flowers and hear the waves at the beach. I want to sit on my deck and read a book, I want to take the kids to the park, I want to lay in a hammock shaded by the leaves on the trees. I want to complain about June bugs, earwigs and mosquitos, I want to drive my car with the windows down and the music blaring...... I want ice cream!
*sigh*.....

Baby Shower
Last night, my dear friends had a baby shower for me and Nathan, hosted by Denessa. It was absolutely wonderful. I am overwhelmed with all the lovely stuff. I have it spread out across the living room this morning. I don't have pictures of the shower to post, but I will once Christine puts them on disc for me. She took some awesome pictures!
Nathan did really well, he slept for the whole thing with a little break to have some grub. I guess he was comfortable in the presence of 15 gorgeous women!! He's still smiling from it......
Thanks everyone!!!
Say Cheese!
